Review by Mark Louie Castro

Karelian Warcry's latest album "Verinen Taival Päättymätön Tie" is a true masterpiece of Finnish metal. The band has managed to create a unique sound that combines traditional folk music with heavy metal, resulting in a powerful and epic sound.

The album features eight tracks, each of them showcasing the band's exceptional musicianship and songwriting skills. From the hauntingly beautiful "Kuoleman Kutsu" to the epic and anthemic "Päättymätön Tie," every song on the album is a journey in itself.

The vocals are particularly noteworthy, with frontman Juha-Pekka Sillanpää delivering a range of emotions from soaring melodies to guttural screams. The guitar work is also exceptional, with blistering solos and intricate riffs that perfectly complement the folk elements.

About Karelian Warcry

Karelian Warcry was founded in late 2002. A drunken idea about a band wasn't bad at all and one thing led to another. Sami Ukkonen (bass) and Urgh (guitars & vocals) were responsible for the musical and lyrical stuff together. Grontti started to mutilate drums. They all had similar and clear visions of what they wanted of the band. Musically the early days were black metal with a taste of folk in it. RM joined the band in April 2003. He was the best person to take care of the lead guitars. This way Urgh could concentrate more on the vocals. Sami quits then. He gave an official announcement 10.02.2004. Style of the band changed after that a bit. Music started to get influences from other genres, mostly from death metal. There wasn't anything dramatic between the bandmates at that time. Piispa, who had played with these guys earlier, took over the bass. They have released their first demo CD in spring 2004. It included five tracks of both old and new material. Ukkonen did guest vocals on the song "Ikirouta". First full-length "Kylmä Rautainen" was recorded at the end of year 2004 and it was published by Seven Gates Of Hell in the Autumn of 2005.

Finland's tie Karelian Warcry are a clone of Darkthrone, Celtic Frost and Gorgoroth, as shown by their second 2010 album, Verinen Taival, Paattymaton tie.
